In terms of playing experience I really liked the BC Rich ASM one.

This might not suit everyone but as tremolo units go is very stable and should tolerate some mild whammy bar antics if not full on dives and pull backs. The BC Rich ASM One is fitted with a vintage tremolo unit. The pick-ups can be accessed through a three way toggle switch and there are master volume and tone controls allowing you to squeeze a great sound out of the guitar. In playing terms the BDSM humbucker delivers a great tone both clean and distorted and the tonal spectrum should keep most guitarists happy. Try saying that in the middle of a metal solo! The BDSM humbucker was designed by BC Rich to give a solid sound as well as being durable while delivering high output. The BC Rich ASM One is armed with two BC Rich Broad Dynamic Sonically Matched (BDSM) humbucker pick-ups in the neck and bridge position. As you would expect from BC Rich the neck has a modern narrow/thin profile and the natural satin finish gives you a really fast playing neck. The fretboard has a full two octaves with 24 jumbo frets. The neck is of a bolt on construction and is crafted from a great bit of maple with a rosewood fretboard. However, don’t let that put you off Basswood provides great resonance and sustain which you would associate with far more expensive woods. The body is manufactured from Basswood, the wood of choice for budget guitars. From the standard BC Rich pointed headstock to the flat top strat body shape this guitar knows which stable it was born in and oozes refined and understated metal quality. The BC Rich ASM One is firmly in the superstrat mould of guitars and, as you would expect with anything carrying the BC Rich name, really does look the business. What the BC Rich ASM One loses in aggressive styling it makes up for in quality. The BC Rich ASM One electric guitar is just such a good example.

And when we are talking about heavy we are not talking about size, BC Rich guitars are not for the faint hearted! However, BC Rich also make some very affordable and excellent quality entry level guitars which would suit most players’ tastes. Why do these guitarists all chose BC Rich? Well it is safe to say that BC Rich focus more heavily on the guitar needs of the heavier players than just about any of the other major guitar manufactures. Just running through the names of BC Rich users is like taking a glance through a who’s who of metal with Kerry King, Zoltan Bathory, CJ Pierce and Marc Rizzo all BC Rich advocates.

If you want your guitar pointy and mean then BC Rich are the guitar manufacturer of choice. BC Rich are well known for producing guitars for the big names in metal.
